How Zappy Works
1. Describe the job. Tell us what needs doing. Not sure how to explain it? Our AI assistant helps you describe the job clearly in seconds.
2. Get up to 3 local quotes. Verified local electricians send their best price, up to three quotes. No cold calls, no chasing.
3. Compare and choose. Compare profiles, ratings and prices side by side. Use FairPriceAI to check whether it's fair and why it costs what it does.
4. Book and relax. Message your electrician through Zappy, agree a time that suits you, and get the job done. Simple as that.

Where Zappy works
Zappy started in South Yorkshire, and that's where most of its electricians are. Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham and Barnsley have the most activity. You can post a job from anywhere in the UK, but outside South Yorkshire there may not be an electrician on Zappy who covers you yet.
Questions homeowners ask
Is it free to post a job?
Yes. Posting a job and comparing estimates is free for homeowners, with no obligation to hire.
How many estimates will I get?
Up to 3. Once three electricians have sent one, the job closes to new estimates, so you compare a few properly instead of fielding calls.
Do you cover my area?
Most electricians on Zappy work in South Yorkshire: Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham and Barnsley. You can post from anywhere in the UK, but elsewhere you may get fewer estimates, or none.
Who sees my phone number and address?
Your address goes only to the electrician you choose. Your number stays hidden too, unless you choose to share it earlier for faster contact. Until then electricians see the job and a shortened postcode.
Are the electricians checked?
Electricians have to show their registration with a scheme such as NICEIC or NAPIT before they can send estimates on jobs.
Is an estimate a fixed price?
No. It's the electrician's price from what you've described. It can change once they've seen the job, so ask them to confirm before work starts.
