PAT questions electricians ask

Can I do PAT testing on my phone?

Yes. Add each appliance as you test it, or test as normal and scan the sheet afterwards. The register, the test instrument and the declaration all fit on a phone, and the certificate goes from there.

Does it work with my PAT tester?

Most testers can give you a PDF or a printout. Pick the PDF or photograph the sheet and Zappy fills the register for you to check. You can also photograph the tester's screen for a single appliance. There's no Bluetooth link to the tester.

What does the PAT certificate include?

The site, then each appliance with its asset ID, location, description and class, the visual inspection, earth continuity, insulation resistance, leakage current where measured, the functional check and the result. Plus the test instrument and its calibration date, the next test date and your declaration.

How does the rating plate photo work?

Tap the camera on an appliance and photograph its rating plate, the tester's screen, or both. Zappy shows you what it read, then fills in the make, the class and any readings you haven't typed yet. You always set the result.
