Set up in two minutes, then scan the next charger you fit.
A charger on its own new circuit is certified with an Electrical Installation Certificate. Zappy's EV certificate is that EIC (supply, boards, circuits and test results) with the charge points, an EV checklist and an earthing risk assessment added, so one PDF covers the whole install. Pick Dwelling for a home charger, or Commercial / Industrial for workplaces and car parks.
Yes. On the Supply step, add each charge point: its make, model, serial and ratings, what it was set to at commissioning, its DC fault protection, any open-PEN device, how it's earthed and the circuit that feeds it. Check flags a charger with no circuit, or one set above its circuit's protective device.
Open a charge point, tap Scan beside Charger and photograph the rating plate. Zappy reads the make, model, serial number, rated kW and amps, charging mode, connector, phases and whether the cable is tethered, and shows each one with a tick box. Apply fills the ones you tick. Settings, protection, earthing and the circuit are always yours to fill in.
Yes. Save a charger to My chargers and next time pick it from the list: its make, model and ratings fill in. If a rating plate scan matches a charger you've saved, Zappy offers yours instead.
Yes, two ways. From an issued EIC, tap ⋯ then Start EV certificate: the client, installation, supply, earthing, boards and circuits come across, and the test results follow once you confirm they're the tests for this work. From a draft EIC, tap Make it an EV certificate on its Details step and it moves across with the next EV number. What was carried shows at the top, with Undo for each part.
Yes. Choose Dwelling or Commercial / Industrial on the Details step and the checklist and risk assessment change to suit: hazardous zones, metering and mobile signal only come up on a commercial site. The items follow the topics of the IET Code of Practice for EV charging equipment installation, in Zappy's own words, and every answer starts blank: Yes, No or N/A.
Yes. Record the DNO route (notify within 28 days, or apply before connecting), the date and DNO reference, the cut-out fuse rating, a looped service and any load-limiting device, plus whether the charger meets the Smart Charge Point Regulations. Choose Notify with more than one charger and Zappy tells you to apply first. When you issue the certificate, Zappy also reminds you to notify building control through your scheme, with the 30-day deadline.
Yes, there's a free plan you keep, with a set number of certificates every month and no card needed. Zappy Pro is £7.99 a month for unlimited certificates, and you can try it free for 7 days.
No. Anyone can use the certificate tools. If you're with NICEIC, NAPIT or another scheme, add your registration number and logo in Settings and they print on every certificate.
No app store needed. Zappy runs in your phone's browser and adds to your home screen like any other app. It works on a laptop or tablet too.
